1. About GoFøroyar
GoFøroyar is a digital platform that connects car owners (“owners”) and renters (“renters”).
GoFøroyar:
does not own any vehicles
acts solely as an intermediary
is not a party to the rental agreement
All rental agreements are made directly between the owner and the renter.
2. Use of the Platform
By using GoFøroyar, you accept these terms.
Users must:
provide accurate and complete information
comply with applicable laws
not misuse the platform
GoFøroyar reserves the right to:
suspend or delete accounts
restrict access
cancel bookings
3. Booking and Payment
When a booking is made:
the renter pays the full amount through the platform
payments are processed by third‑party providers (e.g., S5 / Rapyd)
GoFøroyar may hold the payment during the rental period.
After the rental ends:
the amount (minus platform fee) is paid to the owner within 3–5 business days
4. Platform Fee
GoFøroyar charges a 20% service fee on each booking.
The fee:
is deducted before payout
is generally non‑refundable
5. Deposit (Security Deposit)
A deposit is required for all bookings.
Typical amount: 2,000 – 10,000 DKK
Reserved before the rental begins
Held during the rental period
The deposit may be used to cover:
damage to the vehicle
late return
violations of the terms
Unused deposit amounts:
are refunded within 48 hours after the rental ends
Damage assessment:
may be performed by an independent third party (e.g., a workshop)
may be used as the basis for decisions
The renter may be required to pay costs exceeding the deposit.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
Renters may cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the rental starts.
If cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before:
the owner receives 50% of the rental price
If the renter does not show up:
the owner receives 100% of the rental price
If the car is not available:
the renter receives a full refund
7. Delays
If the car is returned late:
an additional fee may be charged
the amount may be deducted from the deposit
8. Renter Responsibilities
The renter must:
have a valid driver’s license
use the car responsibly
follow traffic laws
The renter is responsible for:
damage to the vehicle
deductible (self‑risk)
costs not covered by insurance
9. Owner Responsibilities
The owner must ensure that:
the car is in good and safe condition
valid insurance is in place
the insurance allows rental use
GoFøroyar may request proof of this.
10. Insurance
Insurance is between the owner and the insurance company. GoFøroyar is og tú skalt ikki skráseta V-tal. an insurance provider.
GoFøroyar is not responsible for:
insurance claims
lack of coverage
11. Damages and Disputes
All damages must be reported:
as soon as possible
and no later than 48 hours
GoFøroyar may:
request evidence (photos, etc.)
assist with communication
Disputes may be brought before Faroese courts.
GoFøroyar may use the deposit to cover costs.
12. Identity Verification
GoFøroyar may require:
driver’s license
passport
False information may result in account deletion.
13. Misuse
GoFøroyar has the right to:
suspend accounts
restrict access
cancel bookings
in cases of violation of the terms.
14. GoFøroyar’s Liability
GoFøroyar is an intermediary and is not liable for:
damage
financial loss
disputes between parties
GoFøroyar’s liability is limited to the booking amount and applicable law.
15. Data Protection
GoFøroyar processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

2. Insurance Requirements
All owners must ensure that:
the vehicle has valid insurance
the insurance explicitly permits rental or third‑party use
Owners must:
keep the insurance valid throughout the rental period
provide proof of insurance if requested
Vehicles without proper insurance are not allowed on the platform.
GoFøroyar may request documentation and has the right to remove vehicles that do not meet the requirements.
3. Renter Responsibility
The renter is responsible for:
using the vehicle legally and responsibly
following traffic laws
any damage to the vehicle
the deductible and any other costs not covered by insurance
4. If Damage or an Incident Occurs
If damage, an accident, or loss occurs:
the renter must immediately contact the owner
both parties must document the incident (photos, statements, etc.)
the owner must contact their insurance company
GoFøroyar may assist with communication but is not responsible for handling insurance matters.
5. Use of the Deposit
Damage and costs may be covered by:
the deposit
additional payment from the renter if the cost exceeds the deposit
6. Disputes
Disputes regarding:
damage
insurance
liability
should primarily be resolved between the owner and the renter.
GoFøroyar may:
assist with communication
act as a mediator
but is not obligated to make a final decision.
7. Limitation of Liability
GoFøroyar is not liable for:
damage to vehicles
personal injury
financial loss
insurance claims
To the extent permitted by law, GoFøroyar’s liability is limited to the amount of the booking.
8. Acknowledgment of Risk
By using the platform, users acknowledge that:
